Canmore Tea Company Berry Blend Oolong

 I love oolong tea it is one of my favorite types of teas.  I spent a few days in Canmore Alberta and I had to visit the local tea shop. I figure I should start linking the teas I'm reviewing with where to buy them except this tea isn't on their site. However you can buy other teas from this company here. I do not get anything from you using that link so order or don't order teas freely. The bag of this tea doesn't boast anything it simply tells you the ingredients and that's all. I suppose I should start the review part by saying this is loose leaf tea that I brewed in a David's Tea steeper.

Ingredients: Oolong, raspberry pieces, strawberry pieces, cornflower, natural flavours

Steep Time: 5 mins (they recommend 3 minutes but I like a strong tea)

Amount: approx. 1.5 teaspoons in approx. 16oz of hot water.

Colour: orange

Smell: The smell of the dry tea is a strong punch of berries. However once steeped the smell become a mild oolong tea smell with subtle berry undertones.

Sweeteners: none no need in my opinion.

Stars: 4/5

Taste: This tea does not have a super strong berry taste. The oolong comes through nicely with little to no bitterness even when cold. In my opinion oolong has the just right flavour between green tea and black tea. I drank the first half warm and because you know I'm a mom the second half got cold when life decided to interrupt my morning unwind, haha. When warm the berry undertone comes through much better, but there is not much of a difference between the warm and cold tea.

Bottomline: I would buy this again but the berry flavour is not as strong as I would expect a "Berry Blend" to be.

Celestial Seasonings Citrus Sunrise

I've been on a slight hiatus lately, but today I'll be reviewing Celestial Seasonings Citrus Sunrise tea. They boast 200% of your daily value of vitamin c pee serving while being caffeine free.

Ingredients: rosehips, orange peel, natural flavors of tangerine, orange and blood orange, with other natural flavors, hawthorn, hibiscus, blackberry leaves and ascorbic acid (vitamin c)

Steep Time: 7 mins 
Amount: 1 teabag in approximately 14 oz.
Colr: reddish orange
Smell: medium orange smell 
Sweeteners: none 
Stars: 4/5

Taste: This tea has a mild flavor of orange with the very mild tartness of hibiscus. Drinking it sends a warmth through you. I'm sure it would be just as pleasant iced. I don't think sweeteners are needed but honey will definitely heighten the flavors.

Bottomline: this is a pleasant way to get your daily dose of vitamin c.

Great Value Earl Grey

So life has gotten in the way of blogging, and so I haven't posted in a while. Anyways on to today's entry.
This tea was on a close out sale so it was a steal.
Amount: 1 tea bag in 16 oz
Sweetener: None
Steep Time: 5 minutes
Smell: It has a slightly citrus auroma.
Taste: From the smell I expected it to taste bitter, but it was not. The flavor was not overwhelming and required no added sugar.
Stars: 4/5
Bottom line: This is a pleasant tea even without sweeteners. I hope the close out sale is because of a new box or size not a discontinued tea.

Seattle's Best Portside blend

Brewing this cup brought me back to being a kid. It smelled just like my dad's coffee brewing. This is a basic coffee not great but not bad, it isn't pricey making it a good everyday coffee. This is a cup that tastes great no matter how you drink it, black it has a slight bitterness but it isn't overpowering. Adding sugar enhances the coffee flavor in the best way possible. Creamer tames the bitterness making it a good chuggable cup. I used the drip coffee maker.
Bottomline this is a good everyday kind of coffee.

Just Black- Black Rifle Coffee Co

This is a cup I can enjoy Just Black, like it's name suggests. There is no bitter after taste and it has a nice smooth taste with a strong aroma. I brewed this cup in a drip pot freshly ground bean to a medium coarseness.
Bottom line i would suggest this cup to anyone who loves coffee black or with sugar.

Great Value Donut Shop and Natural Bliss Coconut Creamer

Right off the bat I could smell this would not be one of my favorite coffees. Initially it was bitter, I planned on trying out the Natural bliss coconut creamer so i set aside a little to try with just sugar. The sugar did not help. I tried some with just the creamer, because the creamer was already pretty sweet. The creamer did cut some of the bitterness but I still needed to add sugar to make this cup enjoyable. I brewed this in a Keurig and use raw cane sugar to sweeten it.
Bottom line this is not a coffee to have black. This coffee needs sugar and cream to tame down the bitterness and make it enjoyable. The non dairy creamer was great. I tasted some on its own and it is sweet and creamy just what you want to use in a cup of coffee, if you are dairy-free.

Great Value Hazelnut Coffee

Okay this coffee is pretty good as far as cheap coffees go. However the hazelnut flavor is very  artificial tasting but if you do not add a lot of sugar it is pretty subtle. This would not be my go to coffee but it will do in a pinch. If the dough isn't there for the coffee fund this is a satisfying cup.
I brewed this cup using my reusable Keurig cup. I added 2 spoons of raw cane sugar.
Bottom line: not a go to cup but will do if low on funds

Snipers hide

I know this blog is called Tea Loving Wolf but I'm on a coffee kick. So today I ordered Snipers Hide from Black Rifle Coffee Company. First I have to say I love this company, they are veteran run and partnered with other veteran run companies. They have special blends that benefit different charities. I subscribe to the coffee club opting to receive a surprise blend each month. this months is Just Black but I am reviewing last months Snipers Hide.
Snipers Hide is a light roast coffee, (the lightest roast they offer) it is a blend of Columbian and Central American beans. I brewed my cup using a reusable K-cup and my Mr Coffee Keurig. I opted for the whole beans and ground mine fresh this morning.
This coffee as a pleasant aroma, it is subtle but reviving scent that makes my mouth water. With only a small amount of cane sugar added this coffee is smooth. I do not get a bitter after taste but a pleasant coffee flavor coating my tongue with a lasting yumminess.
Bottomline I would most defiantly recommend this coffee to a coffee lover and/or coffee novice.

Fit Active (Teaopia/Teavana)

Ingredient: Apple, rosehips, strawberry leaves, raspberry leaves, elderberries, safflower, cornflower, sunflower petals,cherries, bramble berries.
Steep time: 7 minutes Amount: 1.5 tsp per 12 oz Sweenter:A little honey Smell: sweet earthy Color: light green Stars: 4/5
Taste: Unfortunately, this tea is no longer available at Tevana but it is one of my favorite diet teas. With a strong green tea taste that is still sweet. With mild caffeine this tea gives me the energy I need before my work out!
Bottomline: one of my favorite diet teas. Sweet and earthy the perfect pre-workout tea.

Sweet Apple Cider (DavidsTea)

Ingredients: Apple, apple pomace, sweet blackberry leaves, apple flavoring, vanilla and cream flavoring. 

Steep Time: 7 mins Amount: 1.5 tsp per 14 oz Color: yellow Smell: sweet apple mild cream Sweeteners: none Stars: 5/5

Taste: This tea comes second only to Baked Apple Pie Oolong (teaopia) in my list of favorite apple teas. Strong flavor and no sweeteners needed. There is a slight earthy taste from the blackberry leaves. Overall a very good tea.

Bottomline: Excellent tea sweet and apple flavors. This tea lives up to its name.

Sleigh Ride (Davidstea)

Ingredients: Apple, hibiscus blossoms, pineapple, papaya, beetroot, cinnamon, raisins, coconut, roasted almonds, , popped rice, artificial flavouring. 

Steep Time: 7 mins Amount: 1.5 tsp per 14 oz Color: medium red Smell: strong cinnamon Sweeteners: none Stars: 4/5

Taste: This tea has a warm cinnamon taste and a strong tart taste. It is good hot or cold. Does not need sweetener in my opinion. 

Bottomline: this is a yummy tea with warm cinnamon and tart flavors

Sakura Allure (Teavana)

Ingredients: green tea, hibiscus, cherries, candied mango, candied pineapple, bamboo leaves, rose blossom, lemon peel, rosebuds, cranberries

Steep Time: 7 minutes Amount: 1.5 tsp per 14oz Smell: sweet and earthy Color: pinkish tint Sweeteners: none Stars: 3/5

Taste: weak! This tea has a very weak flavor, like watered down hibiscus. Green tea is listed as the first ingredient but I don't taste any green tea. I see a lot of bamboo leave though and I can taste them slightly. 

Bottomline: This tea disappoints it has nice flavor it's just really weak

Yes We Cran (Davidstea)

Ingredient: organic hibiscus, cranberries, rosehip, apple, sugar, natural pumkin spice and cranberry flavoring

Steep time: 5 minutes Amount: 1.5 tsp per 14 oz Color: deep red Smell: tart sweet and bold Sweetener: none Stars: 5/5

Taste: this is one of my favorite teas. It has a strong tart and sweet taste. You can taste the cranberry with a hint of the cinnamon. A great tea warm or cold. It is slightky dry but unlike white teas it is still smooth. 

Bottomline: great tea with a strong tart but sweet taste

Santa's Secret (DavidsTea)

Ingredients: black tea, peppermint, sprinkles, natural and artificial vanilla flavoring.

Steep Time: 7 minutes Amount: 1.5 tsp per 12 oz Color: dark brown Smell: strong vanilla light peppermint Sweeteners: None Stars: 3.5/5

Taste: This tea has a strong vanilla snell that disappoints. The flavor of this tea is very mild black tea. I don't taste any vanilla and just a slight peppermint. The mild black tea isn't offensive like some black tea can be. 

Bottomline: This tea is ok it doesn't live up to it's description but still tastes good.

Eggnog (DavidsTea) Review

Ingredient; green rooibos, white chocolate chips, meringue powder, sugar, gum arabic, calcium sulfate, citric acid, cream of tartar, artificial and natural flavoring.
Steep time: 7 minutes Amount: 1.5 tsp per 12 oz water Color: milky brown water Smell: light and sweet Sweeteners: None Stars: 4/5
Taste: I have never had eggnog so I can't really say if it is true to it's name. However, it has a warm sweet and fairly simple taste. It doesn't look as appealing but it smells great. You can really taste the white chocolate, and reminds me a lot of warm vanilla milk. 

Bottomline: This tea is good and I would recommend it.
